Towering At 21-Stories, Development Will Feature 186 Units for Local College Students and Working Professionals
New Brunswick, New Jersey—Landmark Properties and Gilbane Building Company today announced and celebrated the topping out of construction of a new high-rise residential development called The Standard at New Brunswick, located at 90 New Street in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The mixed-use development is located just 0.4 miles southeast of Rutgers main campus. It will boast contemporary, luxury apartments for students and young working professionals, featuring floor plan options ranging from studios to five bedrooms.
Gilbane is providing construction management agency services for the construction of the 21-story tower in downtown New Brunswick to Landmark Properties, a fully integrated real estate firm and the nation’s top developer of student housing.
“The Standard at New Brunswick is going to be an incredible addition to downtown and Rutgers communities, providing a high-quality living option for nearby students and citizens,” Landmark Properties President and CEO Wes Rogers said. “We are excited to work collaboratively with Gilbane on this project as we watch our collective vision take shape, and we look forward to welcoming residents to their new homes next year.”
“We are very proud to lend our expertise, alongside Landmark Properties, to this important project”, said Bill Gilbane III, Senior Vice President, Gilbane Building Company. “The Standard will provide high-quality apartments and amenities to the students who will become tomorrow’s leaders and offer retail space that will serve the entire downtown community.”
The 303,758 square foot 21-story high-rise will create 186 units and 682 bedrooms of fully furnished luxury apartments and amenities like study spaces, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and terraces.
It will also include three levels of above-grade parking that accommodates 111 new parking spaces. The ground level of the development, totaling 2,000 square feet, will be reserved for commercial, office, retail spaces, and public plaza walkways to capitalize on downtown New Brunswick’s heavy foot traffic and vibrant urban scene.
Construction is expected to be completed by 2020. More information on The Standard can be found at www.thestandardnewbrunswick.com.
